From this junction 302 runs north to Crawford Notch and east toward its intersection with rte 16. There is parking at the trailhead. WebOverview. This developed trailhead accesses the less travelled side of Sawyer Pond Trail after fording the Swift River. The trail also accesses the Brunel Trail and ends at Sawyer River Road at 6.0 miles. Sawyer Pond is reached at 4.5 miles where there is a shelter, tent platforms and an outhouse.
