They are solid and fairly light but when going from warm to cold...or just cold they will creak when you shift your weight on them. Sometimes if you stand way out on the edge of the platform they creak no matter what. Not always but it seems like when you really need them to be quiet- they creak.

Had a friend look at it yesterday and we could not figure out how to attach the backpack straps. The shoulder straps have buckles on the straps that hang down but the single strap where they join is a sewn closed loop is there a part missing.
